Who’d of thought, given my background, I would end up shooting cuddly toys ?!
And enjoying it !
In December 2011 I started shooting for a small company Ragtales that was starting out to produce soft toys. A small but charming product range we initially shot the toys in my studio on a clean white background.
That sort of shot is fine for the catalogue – the retailers can see exactly what they’re getting.
But when you’re putting together a brochure to be seen by Mums and Dads and Grandparents you need something with a bit more appeal.

Vietnam – a promise kept
We’ve been promising ourselves a trip to Vietnam for a long time now, ever since we lived in Paris and worked at the SIPA press agency.
The war in the Far East was the big story of the day and every photo-journalist was itching to go there, myself included.
In retrospect it was a damn good thing that I didn’t go.
Too young Too inexperienced Too dangerous
